National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, popularly known as NIT Trichy was established in 1964. NIT Trichy is an autonomous university, located over a campus area of 800 acres. NIT Trichy’s 17 academic departments offer 10 UG, 40 PG, and 17 PhD courses. The most popular courses are BTech, MBA, MTech, MCA and PhD. NIT Trichy’s most popular course is B.Tech. Admission to the B.Tech course is done on the basis of JEE Main scores, followed by JoSAA counselling.

The institute has received the NIRF’s top ranking among all NITs for six consecutive years. Tondamanpatti is the nearest railway station to the institute, at a distance of 7.1 km, taking 16 minutes to cover the distance. NIT Trichy Highlights

Established in the year 1964, the National Institute of Technology in Tiruchirappalli is a government-run institution for higher education and advanced research, mainly in Engineering and Technology. It started as the Regional Engineering College and is amongst the oldest establishments in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) system. NIT Trichy Courses , Fees & Eligibility

National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. NIT Trichy courses are offered in full-time and online modes. NIT Trichy courses are available in engineering and architecture, sciences, arts, humanities and social sciences, computer application and IT streams. NIT Trichy UG courses are B.Tech and B.Arch. The duration of  NIT Trichy B.Tech courses is 4 years and B.Arch is 5 years.

NIT Trichy Campus Infrastructure

There are a whole lot of NIT, Trichy facilities that are provided  to its students and staff members. The top class amenities provided to the students makes the stay in NITT a memorable experience. The presence of modern facilities at NIT Trichy ensures the academic growth of the students in a comfortable and easy way. Some of the National Institute of Technology, Trichy facilities are hostels for both boys and girls with a total capacity of 5797 students. The NIT Trichy hostels also have the facility of a mess. There is a spacious and well-stocked library that is also digitised. There is a hospital within the campus as well. A detailed list of NIT Trichy facilities is given below:

• Boys Hostel– The institute has a total of 22 boys hostels. Each hostel is managed by a warden. The first year UG boys’ hostels have two resident deputy wardens. The Hostel Executive Committee headed by the Convener and the DCW coordinates the work among wardens and deputy wardens. Each hostel has a television, two DOT telephones, intercom(s), aquaguard, water cooler and kit for indoor games and outdoor games.Hostel Detail
• Girls Hostel– There are 6 girls hostels in the institute. The rooms of these hostels are fully furnished and are well ventilated. The Hostel Executive Committee headed by the Convener and the DCW coordinates the work among wardens and deputy wardens. The NIT Trichy girls’ hostel has three resident deputy wardens. Each hostel has a television, two DOT telephones, intercom(s), aquaguard, water cooler and kit for indoor games and outdoor games.

• Medical/Hospital– The institute has a hospital situated within the campus. The NITT hospital provides primary health care round the clock on all the days. The hospital has casualty, OP & IP facilities along with an ambulance for 24 hours. 
• Library- The institute has a modern Central Library with more than two and a half lakhs of documents consisting of technical books, reports, standards, CD-ROMS, Audio Visual Educational Cassettes, and back volumes of journals. The library subscribes to 83 periodicals (print) plus 8210+ e-Journals and 1995+ e-books besides a holding of 17690 back volumes of journals. The library also contains 16,750 books in the Book Bank scheme. There is also a Digital Knowledge Centre with multiple computers  that allows students to read online journals in the library.
• Sports– The institute has a multi-facility multi-disciplinary sports complex that helps in enhancing the overall personality of the students.The building has an indoor stadium with two shuttle courts and a fitness centre. The institute also has two indoor stadiums. There is also a beautiful swimming pool of 25 metre length. 
• I.T Infrastructure– The computer centre houses 7 labs with 600+ computers and 40 high-end servers providing LAN connection to 7500 users across the campus.
• Auditorium- The college has an auditorium for hosting events and seminars.
• Guest Room/Waiting Room– There is also a guest house in the campus for the waiting parents and staff. 
• Transport Facility- The Transport Section of NITT is managed by a transport committee under Dean in order to help the students and staff. NITT has 4 buses, 1 Swaraj Mazda, 1 Tempo traveller, 1 Indigo Car, 1 Bolero, 1 Eicher, 1 Omni and 1 Ambulance. 

NIT Trichy Placements

The overall placement rate recorded during NIT Trichy BTech placements 2022 was 90.9%. Further, the placement rate recorded during NIT Trichy overall PG placements 2022 was 92.9%. Apart from this, according to NIT Trichy stream-wise NIRF reports 2023, the median package offered during NIT Trichy placements 2021 for BTech, MTech and MBA stood at INR 12 LPA, INR 9.25 LPA and INR 7.8 LPA, respectively.

NIT Trichy Cutoff

The authorities will release the NIT Trichy cutoff percentile 2023 for General, EWS, SC, ST, OBC, to help candidates know the minimum marks required to get admission to institutes. The NIT Trichy cutoff 2023 will be released in the form of opening and closing ranks. Candidates who will be able to rank higher than the closing rank will be allotted seats. The NIT Tiruchirappalli JEE Main 2023 cutoff marks will be updated in this article as soon as it is released by the authorities.

NIT Trichy Fest & Events

The College calendar is interspersed with numerous events whether technical or cultural, at inter departmental level or inter college level. The organisation and execution of most of these events is handled by students themselves guided by the faculty incharge. • Pragyan – Technical Festival  – Pragyan is one of the biggest technical festivals in the country and showcases the talent of students from various colleges across the nation. It is acclaimed for the diverse experiences and opportunities it offers for technology enthusiasts.
• Festember – Cultural Festival – Festember is the annual cultural festival of NIT Trichy. What began as a zero-budget intra-college fest in 1975 soon transformed into a 4-day long cultural extravaganza, drawing in participants from all over the country and living up to its name as a fest to remember. 
• NITTFEST – Inter Departmental Cultural Festival – The foremost example of this philosophy is ‘NITTFEST’ – an annual extravaganza of fine arts!
