The JEE Main 2023 cut-off will be announced along with the IIT JEE result and all India ranks. The top 2.5 lakh candidates will be able to register for JEE Advanced 2023 exam. JEE Main 2023 April 11 Paper Timing

JEE Main 2023 Exam Day Instructions and Important Guidelines
Check all the important JEE Main exam day guidelines and instructions that need to be followed by candidates
- Candidates must reach the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on their admit card
- No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre without NTA JEE Mains admit card, photo ID proof and passport size photograph
- Candidates will be allowed to carry only the following items with them inside the exam centre
- JEE Main admit card 2023 downloaded from the NTA website jeemain.nta.nic.in
- Passport size colour photo
- Valid ID proof
- Water bottle (transparent)
- Ball point pen
- Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall after the test starts
- Candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam centre before the paper concludes
- Candidates will be provided fresh masks at the exam centre. Candidate’s own mask will be disposed of at the exam centre.
JEE Main 2023 April 11 Shift 1 Paper Analysis
- Mathematics –Tough. Questions were asked from all chapters with an emphasis on chapters on Algebra & Calculus. Questions were asked from Vectors & 3 D Geometry (4 to 5 questions), Binomial Theorem, Progressions, Matrices, Mathematical Reasoning, Statistics, Permutation & Combination & Probability, Straight Lines & Circle, Parabola, Definite Integrals had 3 questions, Area, Differential Equations(2 questions). The numerical section had lengthy calculations. Mixed concept questions were asked in Conic Sections. Few questions were reported as tricky.
- Physics – Easy. Questions asked from Kinematics, Heat & Thermodynamics(3 to 4 questions), Kinetic Theory of Gases, Gravitation, Rotational Motion, EM Waves, Electrostatics, Magnetism, AC Circuits, Current Electricity, Modern Physics & Ray Optics. Numerical-based questions were easy. Overall, this section was balanced as per students.
- Chemistry – Moderate to tough . Inorganic Chemistry was given more weightage compared to Physical & Organic Chemistry. Numerical Based questions were mostly from Physical Chemistry – Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Mole Concepts, Ionic Equilibrium, and Solid state. Questions were also asked from Environmental Chemistry, p & d block, Phenols, Chemical Bonding, and Coordination Compounds. Some mixed-concept questions were asked in Organic Chemistry from Amines, Aldehydes & Ketones, Biomolecules, and Polymers.
JEE Main 2023 April 11 Shift 2 Paper Analysis
- Mathematics – Moderate. Weightage was given to chapters of Conic Sections and Calculus. Questions asked from Parabola, Ellipse Hyperbola & Circle, Definite Integrals, Limits & Continuity, Area under curves, Matrices, Vectors, and 3D Geometry. Few good questions also from Binomial Theorem and Permutation & Combination. Both MCQs and Numerical Based questions required lengthy calculations. This section was also tricky for a few students.
- Physics – Easy. Weightage was given to chapters on Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Rotational Motion, Work, Power & Energy, Heat & Thermodynamics, SHM & Waves, Current Electricity, Magnetism, Ray Optics, Gravitation and Modern Physics. Numerical-based questions were reported as easy to moderate. The physics overall section was balanced.
- Chemistry – Easy to Moderate. Inorganic & Organic Chemistry were asked equally and had more questions as compared to Physical Chemistry. The Numerical Section had questions from chapters like Chemical Kinetics, and Electrochemistry. There were mixed concept questions from Alcohols, Ethers & Phenols, and Aryl & Alkyl halides in Organic Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry had questions from s-block, p-block, Chemical Bonding, Co-ordination Compounds and Metallurgy.

JEE Main 2023 April 11 Answer Key Shift 1 and 2
NTA will display the Provisional JEE Main 2023 Answer Key of the questions on the NTA website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/. An opportunity will be given to the candidates to challenge the Provisional Answer Keys with a nonrefundable online payment of ₹ 200/- per question challenged as processing charges. The provisional Answer Keys are likely to be displayed for two to three days after the exam is over.
