JoSAA 2023 – TheJoint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the detailed JoSAA 2023 counselling schedule at josaa.nic.in. The exam authority will open the registration and choice filling for JoSAA 2023 counseling on June 19 online mode. The authorities will conduct the JoSAA counselling to provide admission into NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs to eligible candidates
It is to be noted that all candidates are required to qualify JEE Main or JEE Advanced in order to participate in JoSAA 2023. During the counselling of JoSAA, two rounds of mock allotment will be held held to help candidates make correct choices for the real allotment rounds. Important Notice for Physical Verification Process and Date ranges for PwD Candidates in JoSAA 2023
Physical Verification: For IITs
- Physical verification process starts from the first day of JoSAA 2023 choice filling, and continue through the counseling rounds of JoSAA 2023.
- Each JEE (Advanced) 2023 qualified PwD candidate is required to complete this process latest by the end of the counseling round in which they are allocated a seat (if any), failing which the allocated seat shall be canceled.
- Before candidates come for physical verification they are required to register on the JoSAA 2023 portal.
- Candidates are required to choose any one IIT (for physical verification), date, as well as time (FN/AN) using the link available on the JoSAA 2023 portal before coming for physical verification.

For those seeking admission through JoSAA Counselling 2023, the following eligibility conditions are to be fulfilled:

JoSAA Counselling 2024 : Registration and Choice Filling
The stepwise guideline for JoSAA Registration is discussed below. The choice filling commences with online registration and creating candidates’ profiles.
Step 1: Online Registration
- Click on “JoSAA 2023 Candidate Registration and Choice Filling” on the official JoSAA Website.
- Login using JEE Main/JEE Advanced Application Number and Password.

- Go to the Candidate’s Profile and ensure that all the personal details shown are correct. Only contact details can be changed if required.
- Click on the Change Password tab and complete this compulsory process.
- Click on “Submit Changes”
Step 2: Choice Filling
- After registration, candidates will have to fill their preferred colleges and specialization with the available list of colleges and courses.
- Click on “Choices Available” to view the options candidate has as per his/her qualification.
- Next, go to ‘Choice Filling & Locking’, fill enough choices to enhance your chances of getting a seat.
It is to be noted that choice filling is free of cost.
Step 3: Locking the Choices
- After filling the choices, candidates have to lock the seats which can be done by clicking on “I agree to lock my choices”.
- In case of any modification, candidates can click on “I will lock my choices later”.
- Finally, take a print out of selected options for further use.
NOTE: For those who qualify both JEE Main 2023 and JEE Advanced 2023 will have all choices available (Few courses have certain restrictions). Those who will qualify only JEE Main 2023. Choices will be restricted to programs available in NITs, IIITs and Other-GFTIs. You can choose to view the available programs Institute-wise or discipline-wise. No changes can be done in the filled choices once the seats are locked.

JoSAA Mock Allotment 2023 – 2024
JoSAA 2022 Mock Allotment is conducted before the actual seat allocation. Mock Allotment helps candidates to know their chances in their desired colleges based on their rank and preference. Post knowing this, candidates can then modify their selected choices of colleges and courses accordingly.

JoSAA Seat Allotment 2023 -2024
After two mock allocations, Final JoSAA Seat Allotment will be held in 6 rounds. The registered candidates are allocated seats based on the performance in the qualifying examination (JEE Main or JEE Advanced) and choices filled during registration. Candidates can view the seat allotment result by logging into their account using their application number and password.
The provisional allotment letter has to be downloaded by the candidate and the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 35,000 (general) and 15,000 (SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD or ST-PwD) is to be paid. Once the seat acceptance fees is paid, candidates will have to report to the reporting center (RC) for document verification.
However, if a candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted to him/her they will have the following options to proceed further.
- Floating: This option is for those candidates who wish to accept the offered seat but also are looking for a seat in a better/higher preferred college or course.
- Freezing: If a candidate exercises this option, it will indicate that the candidate has accepted the allotted seat and does not wish to participate in further rounds.
- Sliding: If this option is used, it will mean that candidates have accepted the allotted seat, however, if admissions are open in a better course in the same institute then he/she will go for upgradation.
Lastly, all the candidates will have to report to their allotted colleges to confirm their admission by paying remaining academic fees.
How to check JoSAA 2023-2024 seat allotment round 1
- Visit the official website of JoSAA – josaa.nic.in.
- Click on the link that reads “JoSAA seat allotment list 2023”.
- Enter the required login credentials such as JEE Main/JEE Advanced application number and password in the given field.
- Check the details mentioned on the JoSAA 2023 seat allotment letter.
- Download the JoSAA 2023 seat allotment letter and take a printout of the same for future reference.
Candidates who have been allotted seats during the JoSAA 2023 seat allotment round 1 are required to select the “Online Reporting” and complete the further process to confirm their admission.

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the rank list of JoSAA 2022 after the JEE Main and JEE Advanced results are announced. JoSAA Reporting Centres 2023
After the allotment process is over, the candidates will have to verify their documents at the reporting centres of JoSAA 2023. The authorities will release the list of reporting centres on the official website. Candidates can check the important points related to JoSAA 2023 reporting centres here-
- Candidates will be required to physically report for verification of documents at the JoSAA reporting centres 2023.
- Candidates must carry the original and photocopies of all the required documents for verification.
- Different reporting centres will be available for NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs.
- Candidates will have to report to the reporting centres according to their allotted institutes. There will be separate institutes for NIT+ system (NITs, IIITs and GFTIs) and IITs.
- After the verification process is completed, candidates will have to complete their admission procedure by reporting at their allotted institute.
- In case of change in the seat allotment of a candidate from NIT+ system to IITs or the other way round, then the candidate will have to report to the changed institute. Failing to report will result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.
ONLINE Payment of Partial Admission Fee (PAF) for NIT+ System only – Josaa
- At the end of the 6th round of JoSAA-2023, all candidates having a provisionally allocated
seat in the NIT+ system (allocated in any round of JoSAA-2023 and not been cancelled or
withdrawn) and having paid the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) are also required to pay the
Partial Admission Fee (PAF) online from their JoSAA portal. - Date and Time of Payment:
o From 29 to 31 July 2023 (17:00 Hrs.).
o Please visit the JoSAA portal (https://JoSAA.nic.in) for updates, if any. - Amount:
o ₹40,000/- : GEN/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS Category Candidates
o ₹20,000/- : SC/ST/PwD Category Candidates
o ₹60,000/- : Candidates whose categories changed from SC/ST category to
GEN category or from PwD to Non-PwD status during Online Document
Verification. This amount includes the differential amount ₹20,000/- between
SAFs of their updated GEN/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS status and the earlier
SC/ST/PwD status.

Mode of Payment:
o UPI / Net Banking / Debit card / Credit card facilities available on the JoSAA
portal upon login.
o E-challan of State Bank of India downloaded from the JoSAA portal upon login.
The Partial Admission Fee (PAF) will be adjusted against the admission fee.
Non-payment of the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) within the stipulated time will be treated
as a rejection of the offered / allocated seat by the candidate. In other words, if a candidate
fails to pay the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) within the above stipulated time, she/he will
forfeit the provisionally allocated seat. In such cases, the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) will
be refunded after deduction of a processing fee.

Josaa Seat Matrix – 2023 ( PDF )
There is good news for the students who want to take admitted and study in IITs. JoSAA counseling seat matrix has been released on the official website of JoSAA even before the release of JEE Advanced 2023 result. As per the JoSAA seat matrix of 2023 , 17385 seats of 23 IITs in the country will be admitted this year, Its information was released on the website of Joint Counseling (JOSAA) of IIT-NIT.
Admission to 57,152 seats in IITs NITs IIITs GFTIs
Similarly, 620 seats have increased in Triple IT (IIITs) and 1308 in GFTIs. Thus, this year 2675 seats have increased
JOSAA Counselling: 23,954 seats of 32 NITs will also be admitted
Similarly, out of 23,954 seats in 32 NITs, 23,282 have gender neutral pool and 672 super-numerical female pool. There are 7124 gender-neutral pools and 622 super numeric female pools out of 26 triple IT seats in 7,746 seats. At the same time, out of 8067 seats in 33 GFTIs, 8010 belong to the gender-neutral pool and 57 supernumerary female pools. Out of 57152 seats, 54209 seats will be allotted from gender neutral pool and 2,943 seats from a supernumerary pool by JoSAA counselling comprising all IITs, NITs and Triple ITs.
