JoSAA 2025 is a joint seat allocation process conducted for admission to B.Tech colleges in India through a single platform based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores. JoSAA counselling 2025 registration will begin on June 2025 . Those with qualified JEE Mains or JEE Advanced scores can register for JoSAA 2024 counselling online at josaa.nic.in. You are given a 10-day window to register and fill in choices of your academic programs. This 10 day window also includes 2 mock seat allocations and the document verification process.

It is to be noted that all candidates are required to qualify JEE Main or JEE Advanced in order to participate in JoSAA 2024. During the counselling of JoSAA, two rounds of mock allotment will be held held to help candidates make correct choices for the real allotment rounds. Important Notice for Physical Verification Process and Date ranges for PwD Candidates in JoSAA 2025
Physical Verification: For IITs
- Physical verification process starts from the first day of JoSAA 2025 choice filling, and continue through the counseling rounds of JoSAA 2025.
- Each JEE (Advanced) 2025 qualified PwD candidate is required to complete this process latest by the end of the counseling round in which they are allocated a seat (if any), failing which the allocated seat shall be canceled.
- Before candidates come for physical verification they are required to register on the JoSAA 2025 portal.
- Candidates are required to choose any one IIT (for physical verification), date, as well as time (FN/AN) using the link available on the JoSAA 2025 portal before coming for physical verification.

JoSAA 2025 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to participate in the JoSAA 2025 counselling process, it is mandatory for students to appear and qualify for either JEE Main or JEE Advanced 2025. Along with this, there are other eligibility criteria that candidates need to fulfil to be eligible for the process.
Every candidate who satisfies one or more of the following eligibility criteria mentioned below can participate in JoSAA counselling:

JoSAA Counselling 2025 Process: Registration, Choice Filling and Locking
JoSAA counselling 2025 registration is an online process. Along with the registration, you need to complete choice filling for the academic programs in order of preference. The stepwise guidelines for JoSAA 2025 registration and choice filling have been discussed by us in the section below.
Step 1: Online Registration
- Click on “JoSAA 2025 Candidate Registration and Choice Filling” on the official JoSAA Website.
- Login using your JEE Main/JEE Advanced Application Number and Password.
- Go to the Candidate’s Profile and ensure that all your personal details shown are correct.
- Click on the Change Password tab and complete this compulsory process.
- Click on “Submit Changes”
Step 2: Choice Filling
- After registration, you need to fill your preferred colleges and courses from the available list of colleges and courses.
- Click on “Choices Available” to view the options as per your qualification.
- Next, go to ‘Choice Filling & Locking’, fill enough choices to enhance your chances of getting a seat.
NOTE: You can select as many courses as you want provided you fulfill the eligibility criteria for the course. You are also advised to fll in your choices in order of preferences made.
Step 3: Locking the Choices
- After filling the choices, you have to lock the seats which can be done by clicking on “I agree to lock my choices”.
- In case of any modification, you can click on “I will lock my choices later”.
- Finally, take a printout of selected options for further use.
NOTE: For those who qualify both JEE Main 2025 and JEE Advanced 2025 will have all choices available (Few courses have certain restrictions). Those who will qualify only JEE Main 2024, choices will be restricted to programs available in NITs, IIITs and Other-GFTIs. You can choose to view the available programs Institute-wise or discipline-wise. No changes can be done in the filled choices once the seats are locked.

JoSAA Mock Allotment 2025-2026
JoSAA 2025 Mock Allotment is conducted before the actual seat allocation. Mock Allotment helps candidates to know their chances in their desired colleges based on their rank and preference. Post knowing this, candidates can then modify their selected choices of colleges and courses accordingly.

JoSAA Seat Allotment 2025 -2026
After two mock allocations, Final JoSAA Seat Allotment will be held in 5 rounds. The registered candidates are allocated seats based on the performance in the qualifying examination (JEE Main or JEE Advanced) and choices filled during registration. Candidates can view the seat allotment result by logging into their account using their application number and password.
The provisional allotment letter has to be downloaded by the candidate and the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 35,000 (general) and 15,000 (SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD or ST-PwD) is to be paid. Once the seat acceptance fees is paid, candidates will have to report to the reporting center (RC) for document verification.
However, if a candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted to him/her they will have the following options to proceed further.
- Floating: This option is for those candidates who wish to accept the offered seat but also are looking for a seat in a better/higher preferred college or course.
- Freezing: If a candidate exercises this option, it will indicate that the candidate has accepted the allotted seat and does not wish to participate in further rounds.
- Sliding: If this option is used, it will mean that candidates have accepted the allotted seat, however, if admissions are open in a better course in the same institute then he/she will go for upgradation.
Lastly, all the candidates will have to report to their allotted colleges to confirm their admission by paying remaining academic fees.
How to check JoSAA 2025-2026 seat allotment round 1
- Visit the official website of JoSAA – josaa.nic.in.
- Click on the link that reads “JoSAA seat allotment list 2024”.
- Enter the required login credentials such as JEE Main/JEE Advanced application number and password in the given field.
- Check the details mentioned on the JoSAA 2024 seat allotment letter.
- Download the JoSAA 2024 seat allotment letter and take a printout of the same for future reference.
Candidates who have been allotted seats during the JoSAA 2024 seat allotment round 1 are required to select the “Online Reporting” and complete the further process to confirm their admission.

JoSAA Rank List 2025
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the rank list of JoSAA 2025 after the JEE Main and JEE Advanced results are announced. JoSAA Reporting Centres 2025
After the allotment process is over, the candidates will have to verify their documents at the reporting centres of JoSAA 2025. The authorities will release the list of reporting centres on the official website. Candidates can check the important points related to JoSAA 2025 reporting centres here-
- Candidates will be required to physically report for verification of documents at the JoSAA reporting centres 2025.
- Candidates must carry the original and photocopies of all the required documents for verification.
- Different reporting centres will be available for NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs.
- Candidates will have to report to the reporting centres according to their allotted institutes. There will be separate institutes for NIT+ system (NITs, IIITs and GFTIs) and IITs.
- After the verification process is completed, candidates will have to complete their admission procedure by reporting at their allotted institute.
- In case of change in the seat allotment of a candidate from NIT+ system to IITs or the other way round, then the candidate will have to report to the changed institute. Failing to report will result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.
JoSAA 2025 Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF)
SAF or the seat acceptance fee is the amount a candidate needs to pay to accept an allotted seat in one of seat allotment rounds. This fee also includes Rs. 5,000 JoSAA processing fee. Apart from the JoSAA processing fee, the rest of the amount is adjusted against the admission fee at the institute.

JoSAA 2025 Partial Admission Fee (PAF)
At the end of JoSAA 2025 round 6 allotment, those who have been provisionally allotted seat are required to pay the Partial Admission Fee. This fee is non-refundable and is adjusted against the academic course fee.

Mode of Payment:
o UPI / Net Banking / Debit card / Credit card facilities available on the JoSAA
portal upon login.
o E-challan of State Bank of India downloaded from the JoSAA portal upon login.
The Partial Admission Fee (PAF) will be adjusted against the admission fee.
Non-payment of the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) within the stipulated time will be treated
as a rejection of the offered / allocated seat by the candidate. In other words, if a candidate
fails to pay the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) within the above stipulated time, she/he will
forfeit the provisionally allocated seat. In such cases, the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) will
be refunded after deduction of a processing fee.

JoSAA Top 20 Percentile
As per the eligibility criteria, you need a minimum 75% in Class 12th to be eligible for admission based on JEE Mains or JEE Adv scores. However, those who cannot fulfill 75% eligibility requirement but are among the top 20 percentile students in board exams can instead apply for admissions.
What does top 20 percentile mean? Top 20 percentile means the candidates are among the top 20 qualified candidates and are ahead of 80% of the total candidates who appeared for the exam.
JoSAA separately releases the marks required to be among the top 20 percentile candidates for IITs and NIT + system. Based on the previous year analysis, JoSAA Top 20 percentile have been tablulated in the table below.

Josaa Seat Matrix – 2025 ( PDF )
JoSAA 2025 Seat Matrix: The authority released the JoSAA 2025 seat matrix on the offiical website at josaa.nic.in. The JoSAA 2024 seat matrix will provide candidates with the total number of seats available for admission to several JoSAA participating institutes. According to the JoSAA 2025 seat matrix, the total number of seats in IIT are 17740 while the total number of seats in NITs and IIITs are 24229 and 8546 respectively. Candidates who are seeking admission via JoSAA 2025 counselling can check the category-wise JoSAA Seat Matrix below.
There is good news for the students who want to take admitted and study in IITs. JoSAA counseling seat matrix has been released on the official website of JoSAA even before the release of JEE Advanced 2024 result. As per the JoSAA seat matrix of 2024 , 17740 seats of 23 IITs in the country will be admitted this year, Its information was released on the website of Joint Counseling (JOSAA) of IIT-NIT. Similarly, 800 seats have increased in Triple IT (IIITs) , 1335 in GFTIs & 275 in NITs. Thus, this year 2765 seats have increased
