IIIT Bhubaneswar is an initiative of the Government of Odisha and has been registered as a society in Nov 2006. In January 2014, the Institute was converted to a University by the Government of Odisha. The institute, which spans 23 acres, is a Unitary Technical University recognized by the University Grants Commission (India). The International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar provides many facilities to students and staff. The IIIT Bhubaneswar facilities include hostels, a library, an auditorium, classrooms, laboratories and many more. Classrooms have Network and Internet access, Multimedia Projectors and Audio systems and many more. The IIIT Bhubaneswar has developed Virtual Labs and Cloud-based Labs for many IT-oriented subjects.
