IIT Tirupati is one of the 23 IITs established by the Indian government. Established in 2015, IIT Tirupati functions as an autonomous technical university.IIT Tirupati began its operations in 2015-16 with IIT Madras as its mentoring institution. IIT Tirupati is currently operating out of a temporary campus on Renigunta Road in Tirupati. The Permanent Campus, which covers over 548.3 acres and is provided by the Government of Andhra Pradesh near Merlapaka Village on the Yerpedu-Venkatagiri Highway.
It integrates the Stage 1A Transit Campus, which is larger than 36 acres. By 2024, the main campus construction will be finished. The new campus’s building spans 548.3 acres. IIT Tirupati is a recently established IIT with the major programs of BTech, MTech, M.Sc, MS, and PhD. Aside from that, the M.Tech. and M.Sc. programs began significantly later in 2019. All course admission is entrance-based. The admission exams may be institute-based entrance exams or national-level exams.

The highest and average package offered to BTech CSE students during IIT Tirupati placements in 2024 stood at INR 41.64 LPA and INR 10.57 LPA, respectively. IIT Tirupati Facilities
Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati provides ample facilities for the students, staff and faculty members.
