CSAB Counselling 2024 – Central Seat Allocation Board conducts CSAB 2024 to provide admissions into the participating institutes (IIITs, NITs, and GFTIs) on the basis of JEE Main scores. The CSAB NEUT 2024 registration and choice filling has started. The exam authorities will allot seats to the registered candidates as per their JEE Main merit, preferences, and availability of seats. The CSAB 2024 seat allotment will be conducted separately for three channels of admissions.
CSAB 2023 will be conducted separately for the three channels – CSAB NEUT( North-Eastern states and Union Territories), CSAB UT (supernumerary seats in the Union Territories), and CSAB SFTI (Self-financed technical institutes). The registration process for the different channels of CSAB 2023 will begin separately in online mode. Apart from JoSAA – 2023 rounds, CSAB – 2023 is also responsible for the following centralized seat allocation processes.
1. CSAB Special Rounds: Upon completion of JoSAA – 2023 rounds, if any seats remain vacant in the NIT+ system (excluding seats of IITs), two special rounds called CSAB Special Rounds are conducted by the CSAB – 2023 through its own online portal CSAB
2. CSAB Supernumerary Round: The CSAB Supernumerary round counselling is conducted by CSAB – 2023 through its online portal (https://csab.nic.in) for admission to supernumerary seats in selected NITs (NIT Durgapur, NIT Calicut, SVNIT Surat) for candidates with state of eligibility as Union Territories of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep & Kandvi, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
3. CSAB NEUT Rounds: CSAB – 2023 also conducts CSAB NEUT rounds through its online portal CSAB to allocate seats of AICTE approved Institutes under the scheme of “Reservation of seats in Degree Level Technical Courses for States / UTs lacking such facilities in the AICTE-approved institutions” to candidates of the North-Eastern states and Union Territories.

CSAB Counselling 2023 Seat Allotment
Central Seat Allocation Board has released the CSAB NEUT 2023 round 1 seat allotment result on July 18 at the official website. Candidates can check their CSAB counselling seat allotment result through JEE Main application number and password. After checking the seat allotment result through CSAB portal, candidates need to accept the seat allotment, pay the seat acceptance fee and confirm the admission. On the other hand, candidates willing to participate in Special Round-2 can choose Float or Slide options. The seat acceptance fee details are given below:

CSAB Counselling 2023 : Eligibility Criteria
Central Seat Allocation Board mentions the CSAB eligibility criteria in the official notification. Applicants are advised to check the CSAB 2023 eligibility criteria before completing the registration process. Candidates appearing in CSAB 2023 counselling can check the eligibility criteria below:
- Candidates who have not registered for JoSAA counselling but are eligible as per their JEE Main rank, are allowed to register for CSAB special round.
- Candidates who have registered for JoSAA and were allocated a seat in any of Round 1 to 6 are eligible to participate in the special round of CSAB.
- Candidates who have registered for JoSAA and were not allocated a seat in any of the Round 1 to 6 are eligible for the CSAB special round.
- Candidates who have accepted the seat and paid the partial admission fee through JoSAA can also participate in CSAB.
- Candidates who have opted for “Not to Participate in Special Round” at the time of reporting are not eligible for CSAB.

CSAB Counselling Registration 2023
Central Seat Allocation Board has commenced the CSAB NEUT 2023 registration at the official website. The last date to complete the CSAB NEUT registration 2023 is July 3. Registrations made for JoSAA 2023 counselling will not be considered for CSAB special rounds. The online CSAB 2023 registration process for special rounds can be checked below:
Step-1: Visit the official website of CSAB: csab.nic.in
Step-2: Enter your JEE Main Roll Number and other required details for registration. Update some details such as State of Eligibility, Gender, Nationality and Category.
Step-3: Upload the scanned copy of the documents mentioned below
Step-4: Pay the participation or processing fee and confirm the registration.
NOTE: At the time of registration, the candidates have to enter the Bank Account details such as Name in the bank account, Bank Name, Account Number and IFSC code for any refund from CSAB.
Documents required for CSAB counselling 2023
Before registering for the CSAB counselling, candidates must be ready with the scanned copy of the following documents. The documents listed below will be required to be uploaded at the time of CSAB counselling registration.
- Class 10 Certificate.
- Class 12 Certificate or Mark Sheet.
- Category Certificate (applicable for ST, SC, OBC-NCL, Gen-EWS).
- PwD Certificate (if applicable).
- State of Eligibility Certificate (applicable for candidates who passed Class 12th from outside India).
- PwD Candidates will have to upload an Affidavit.
Note: In the case of OBC-NCL/EWS category, the certificate must be issued on or after April 01, 2023.

Fee Adjustment Rules
- Out of the Special Round Enrollment Fee, ₹4,000 is the Processing Fee which is non-refundable and non-adjustable in the fee of the allotted Institute.
- Special Round Enrollment Fee (after deduction of ₹4,000) and Seat Acceptance Fee paid by the candidates will be adjusted in the Institute Fee.
- For candidates who have deposited the Fee in any of the IITs, if allotted a seat in the Special Round, the fee deposited during JoSAA rounds will NOT be adjusted in the fee of the newly allotted Institute in Special Round. Such candidates will have to claim their fee from IITs as per the refund policy of IITs.

Refund Policy
- If a candidate opts to withdraw the seat allotted in NIT+System in JoSAA rounds and does not participate in Special Rounds counseling, his/her Seat Acceptance Fee will be refunded back after deducting Rs. 7,000.
- If no seat is allotted to a candidate (who is NOT already holding any seat) in the Special Rounds, his/her Participation Fee will be refunded back after deducting the processing fee of Rs. 4,000.
- If no seat is allotted to the candidate (who is NOT already holding any seat) in the Special Round-I and the candidate withdraws from Special Round-II, his/her Participation Fee will be refunded after deducting the processing fee of Rs. 4,000.
- If a candidate gets a seat allotted in Special Round-I and his/her seat gets cancelled (due to reasons specified here), his/her Participation Fee and Seat Acceptance Fee (if paid) will be refunded back after deducting Rs. 7,000.
- If a candidate gets a seat allotted in Special Round-I (or retains the seat secured in JoSAA rounds) and opts for “Surrender”, and does not get a seat in Special Round-II, his/her Participation Fee and Seat Acceptance Fee (if paid) will be refunded back after deducting Rs. 7,000.
- If a candidate gets a seat allotted in Special Round-I (or retains the seat secured in JoSAA rounds) and opts for “Withdraw”, his/her Participation Fee and Seat Acceptance Fee (if paid) will be refunded back after deducting Rs. 7,000.
- If a candidate gets a seat allotted in Special Round-I and his/her seat gets cancelled due to ineligibility or in-appropriate document noticed during document verification, his/her Participation Fee and Seat Acceptance Fee (if paid) will be refunded back after deducting Rs. 7,000.
- If a seat is allotted up to Special Round-II (i.e. seat allotted in JoSAA/Special Round-I and retained for next round OR seat allotted afresh in Special Round-II), his/her Participation Fee and Seat Acceptance Fee (if paid) will not be refunded whether the candidate joins the allotted Institute or not. The fee of such candidates will be transferred to the Allotted Institute.
- If a candidate has been allotted a seat in Special Round-II and his/her seat cancelled due to ineligibility or in-appropriate document, his/her participation fee and Seat Acceptance Fee (if paid) will not be refunded.
CSAB Counselling 2023 Choice Filling
Central Seat Allocation Board has commenced the CSAB NEUT choice filling on June 27 at the official website. The last date to complete the CSAB NEUT 2023 choice filling is July 12. The choices filled by candidates during JoSAA counselling are not acceptable, and candidates have to fill fresh choices for CSAB 2023 counselling. There is no limit on the number of choices filled by the candidates. After filling in the choices, the candidates will have to ‘Save’ & ‘Lock’ the choices so that the seat allotment result shall be processed.
- Registered candidate will be able to fill/re-arrange his/her choices where all the seats of NITs/IIITs/GFTIs will be displayed for which that candidate is eligible as per his/her category.
- All registered candidates are required to fill fresh choices. Earlier filled choices will not be considered in this round of seat allotment.
- Candidates who have already secured Admission and want to participate in the special rounds while retaining the currently allotted seat are also required to fill fresh choices.
- All valid choices will be shown to the candidate except the secured seat. Their last allotted seat (Secured Seat) will automatically be considered as the last choice in the set of choices.
- Based on the new set of choices, a new seat will be allotted or his/her earlier allotted seat will be retained.
CSAB 2023 Counselling Seat Acceptance & Reporting Process
The seat acceptance and reporting process can be checked below. For accepting the seat, any of the following options must be chosen
- Freeze: If the candidate is satisfied with the seat allotment and does not want to participate in Round 2, ‘Freeze’ is the option that must be chosen.
- Slide: If the candidate is looking for a better course allotment within the same institute, ‘Slide’ is the option that must be chosen. In such cases, the allotted seat will be accepted and will be cancelled only if the candidate gets a better allotment.
- Float: If the candidate is looking for a better institute allotment, ‘Float’ is the option that has to be chosen. . In such cases, the allotted seat will be accepted and will be cancelled only if the candidate gets a better allotment in the second round.

CSAB Neut Counselling
The government of India has a scheme of reservation of seats in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy courses conducted at degree-level technical institutions approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Universities for North-Eastern (NE) States and Union Territories (UTs), which do not have Engineering Colleges or lack facilities for education in specific fields of Technical Education and for certain categories.
By order of the Ministry of Education vide Office, the CSAB-2023 shall conduct CSAB-NEUT rounds through its online portal (https://CSAB.nic.in) to allocate seats under the above scheme to candidates of North-Eastern states and Union Territories. The Business Rules and Seat Matrix under various reservation categories in various Participating Institutes of the CSAB-NEUT are available on the CSAB website (https://csab.nic.in).
The Eligibility Criteria and the process of Registration, Choice Filling, Choice Locking, Seat Allotment, Payment of Fees, etc., are different from those of JoSAA/CSAB rounds. CSAB NEUT Eligibility Criteria
The exam authorities have released some conditions which will have to be met by the candidates to be eligible for the admissions process. If they are not able to satisfy these eligibility criteria of CSAB NEUT 2023, then they will be disqualified from the admission process.
Domicile – All of the candidates should meet the domicile requirements of any of the eight Northeastern states (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura) or four Union Territories (Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu, and Lakshadweep).
Educational Qualification – Candidates should have-
- Secured a rank in JEE Main 2023. B.E./B.Tech Paper for B.E./B.Tech. programs, secured a rank in JEE Main 2023 B.Arch Paper for B.Arch. programs
- Appeared in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination in the year 2021, 2022 and 2023 will be eligible for admission through CSAB NEUT-2023 provided they fulfill all other eligibility requirements.
- Candidates appearing for class 12th examination in 2023 and if their result is not yet declared, they can submit their XII pass certificate by December 31. In case, if the candidate fails in class 12th, his/her admission will be cancelled
For Engineering and Architecture: Candidates must pass class 12 exam with the following
