Overall, today’s BTech paper for Shift 1 is rated moderate. Students found Maths difficult, Chemistry easy, and Physics moderate to easy. According to the schedule, the JEE Mains 2024 (BE/BTech) Paper 1 exam is being conducted in two shifts on January 29, 2024. First shift timing was 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and shift 2 is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

JEE Main 2024 Exam Day Instructions and Important Guidelines
Check all the important JEE Main exam day guidelines and instructions that need to be followed by candidates
- Candidates must reach the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on their admit card
- No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre without NTA JEE Mains admit card, photo ID proof and passport size photograph
- Candidates will be allowed to carry only the following items with them inside the exam centre
- JEE Main admit card 2024 downloaded from the NTA website jeemain.nta.nic.in
- Passport size colour photo
- Valid ID proof
- Water bottle (transparent)
- Ball point pen
- Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall after the test starts
- Candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam centre before the paper concludes
- Candidates will be provided fresh masks at the exam centre. Candidate’s own mask will be disposed of at the exam centre.

JEE Main 2024 Jan 29 Shift 1 Overall Analysis
- The overall paper was moderate to easy.
- Maths was lengthy, tricky and also difficult in shift 1.
- Physics was easy and formula-based.
- Chemistry was NCERT based and easy. Students say it was CBSE Board exam level.
- Most of the questions in Chemistry came from organic chemistry. Physical chemistry was not lengthy. Questions came from metallurgy, ores, d block, bromination, biomolecule.
- In Maths, many questions were asked from vector, 3D, integration, differential, limits, sequence and series, matrice, functions.
- In Physics questions came from all topics equally. Semiconductors, Modern Physics, Atomic structure, galvanometer, thermodynamics, photoelectric effect were asked. Most questions were from 12th syllabus than the 11th syllabus.

- Overall Shift 2 paper was easy to moderate.
- Maths was a Moderate and lengthy as Shift 1.
- Physics was easy and formula-based.
- Chemistry was easy and formula-based.
- No questions came from the deleted syllabus
- In Maths, the topics asked were: Vectors, 3D, straight lines, coordinate geometry, Quadratic , Straight Line , Statistics, Probability, Matrices, Calculus, Differential Equation.
- In Chemistry, the topics asked were: Organic Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Inorganic chemistry. Physical chemistry was less.
- In Physics, the topics asked were: Modern physics, wave optics, diffraction, rotation, Heat, Kinematics, SHM, Logic Gate, etc.

JEE Main 2024 January 29 Answer Key Shift 1 and 2
NTA will display the Provisional JEE Main 2024 Answer Key of the questions on the NTA website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/. An opportunity will be given to the candidates to challenge the Provisional Answer Keys with a nonrefundable online payment of ₹ 200/- per question challenged as processing charges. The provisional Answer Keys are likely to be displayed for two to three days after the exam is over.
