The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sonepat (IIIT Sonepat) had its establishment in the year 2014 and it is one of the new IIITs approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It started its academic semester under the guidance of National Institute of Technology, Sonepat (NIT Sonepat). IIIT Sonepat courses consist of an undergraduate course in two different specialisations. The admissions at the institute are done on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains) rank acquired by the candidate followed by JoSAA/CSAB counselling.

IIIT Sonepat Campus Facilities
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sonepat campus is spread over 300 acres of land with all the basic facilities available for its students and staff with separate hostels for both male and female students. IIIT Sonepat facilities and infrastructure offers the necessities of the students and the staff with a library, a fully equipped gymnasium, multifunctional sports ground, indoor games and outdoor sports facilities to keep the students fit, healthy and active which helps in physical and psychological development of the students.
The facilities provided at the institute are modern and high quality facilities with high performing IT infrastructure and Wi-Fi facilities for the students and staff on campus.
Library IIIT Sonepat facilities for the library are open to all its students with thousands of books, journals, and research papers of various subjects which makes the well-stocked library a place full of information and knowledge. IIIT Sonepat library is also accessible online which makes researching and learning about particular things more easier for the students. 
Sports IIIT Sonepat facilities have provided equipment and facilities for a wide range of sports including a multifunctional sports ground, indoor games such as table tennis, carrom, chess, and many more, and a fully equipped gymnasium. All of these facilities are available to all students to keep them healthy and active while having fun in a challenging approach. 
I.T Infrastructure The IIIT Sonepat has excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.
Cafeteria IIIT Sonepat facilities also include a spacious and clean canteen which is available not only for the students but faculty members and the staff as well. A healthy and nutritious diet is important to stay focused in academic and professional life, the canteen provides a wide range of food as per consumers preferences while making sure its healthy and appetising. 
Laboratories The IIIT Sonepat has a departmental based laboratories facility for the students.
Boys Hostel IIIT Sonepat facilities include arranged hostels nearby the institute for the male students who seek accommodation close to the institute. The institute has its own hostels under construction which will be available for the students after the construction of the permanent hostel of 50 acres in size at IIIT Sonepat campus all the students will be shifted back. IIIT Sonepat facilities include two transit hostels, for now, solely for the male students.

Girls Hostel The institute prioritises the safety of its students at most, so the hostel for female students of the institute was arranged at IIT Delhi Technopark. Female students will also be shifted back to the permanent hostels of the institute after its construction. Only one transit hostel is available for the female students for now.
IIIT Sonepat Cutoff
The cutoff for the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Sonepat is the minimum rank or score required for candidates to be eligible for admission to its various B. Tech programs. The cutoff is determined based on several factors, including the number of applicants, available seats, and the difficulty level of the entrance exam (usually JEE Main). Each year, IIIT Sonepat releases its cutoff ranks for different B—tech courses after the JEE Main results are announced. Candidates who meet or surpass the specified cutoff rank become eligible to participate in the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling process for securing a seat at IIIT Sonepat.
