Jee Advanced Revised Syllabus for All the Three Subjects
The revised syllabus for JEE Advanced 2023 for all three subjects including Physics, Mathematics, and chemistry can be accessed from the official website jeeadv.ac.in.
The new revised syllabus will be more in sync with the CBSE and JEE Main Examination than before.
Jee Advanced New Chapters to be Included in the Syllabus
There will be new chapters in the revised syllabus of JEE Advanced 2023 which means aspirants will have to prepare for more chapters. The revised syllabus of JEE Advanced 2023 envisages a larger syllabus than before. The aspirants will have to prepare a dedicated strategy for the JEE Adv 2023 in view of the changes in the syllabus. The new syllabus for JEE Adv 2023 Exam will have additions of statistics in Mathematics. The solution of the triangle chapters has been removed from the revised syllabus
In Physics, EM waves and polarization and forced and damped oscillation have been added to the revised syllabus. Meanwhile, the semiconductors and communications have been dropped from the revised syllabus. The top 2.50 lakh aspirants of JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Adv every year.
New Pattern and Syllabus for Design Entrance Exams
A new paper pattern and syllabus has also been introduced for design entrance exams, CEED and UCEED. The design entrance exam has two parts which are Part A and Part B. Part A is the computer-based test that has three sections including NAT, MSQ, and MCQ. The part B exam will be held for 60 min and will have two sections – Drawing and the other on design aptitude. The question in Part B will be displayed on the computer screen and the answer has to be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator only.

JEE Main vs JEE Advanced : General Differences
Having covered the syllabus differences in JEE Main and JEE Advanced, let’s take a look of other differences between the two.
Marks obtained in JEE Advance will be the criteria to get into the renowned Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Students must know the difference between the JEE Main exam, which is conducted by the CBSE, and the JEE Advanced, which is conducted by the IITs. The main differences between the two are:
- JEE Main helps those candidates who wish have a degree in BE or B.Tech courses in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) and engineering colleges of the participating states. The JEE Main is also the eligibility test that gives the students a chance to appear in the the JEE Advanced exam which will eventually lead to admission in either the IITs or the Indian School of Mines (ISM).
- The JEE Main is conducted with an option of two papers, namely, Paper 1 and Paper 2. The Paper 1 is for those students who wants an admission in BE and B.Tech courses and Paper 2 is for those who want admission in B.Arch and B.Planning courses. While Paper 1 can be taken via both online and offline mode, Paper 2 is held only offline. While applying for the JEE Main exam, the candidates must specify if they want to appear for Paper 1 or Paper 2 or both.
- JEE Advanced, on the other hand, is strictly paper-based. The candidates must sit for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 in this exam to get admission into engineering courses. Selection of the candidates is decided on the basis of the All India Rank (AIR) secured by them in the JEE Advanced exam.
- While JEE Main can be taken 3 consecutive times, JEE Advanced can only be taken for 2 consecutive years.
