Indian Institute of Technology Ropar is situated at Ropar (also known as Rupnagar) in Punjab. The nearest bus station is Rupnagar Old Bus Stand in Chota Khera, about 8 kilometres from the campus. Boys Hostel Indian Institute of Technology Ropar has three boys hostels – Mercury, Jupiter and Neptune. Each hostel has basic facilities like RO systems, common room for games and recreation, comfortable beds, and water coolers. The rooms are well-furnished and offer a comfortable stay to students. 
Girls Hostel The college has one girl hostel – Venus Girls Hostel. For the convenience of students, the girl hostel has basic facilities like RO water purifier, water coolers, common room etc. The hostel is managed by the warden.
