IIT Roorkee is an autonomous research University located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Established in 1847 as Thomason College of Civil Engineering, IIT Roorkee is Asia’s oldest technical university. IIT Roorkee Placements
As per media reports, the institute has achieved 100% placement rate during MBA placement drive of 2023. The highest package offered stood at INR 27.94 LPA. Further, the average and median package offered during IIT Roorkee placement process of 2023 was INR 18.34 LPA and INR 18.09 LPA, respectively. IT & Analytics emerged as the top recruiting sector with INR 19.36 LPA followed by other sectors. Major recruiters participated during IIT Roorkee MBA placements 2023 include Deloitte, EXL, EY, GAIL, etc.
According to media reports, the highest international and domestic package offered during IIT Roorkee placements 2022-23 placements stood at INR 1.06 crore per annum and INR 1.30 crore per annum, respectively. Further, six international offers were made on day 1 of IIT Roorkee placements 2023. Apart from this, ten students got salary package of more than INR 80 LPA during IIT Roorkee placements 2023.
Importantly, a record of 365 offers including PPOs were made on day 1 of IIT Roorkee placements 2023. On day two of IIT Roorkee placements 2023, 32 recruiters participated and presented various job roles to the students. The total number of offers stood at 500. The top recruiters include leading companies such as Tata Steel, Uber and Bajaj Auto.
Earlier, a total of 265 companies visited the campus and 1,200 PPOs were made during IIT Roorkee placements 2022. Further, the highest international and domestic packages offered during IIT Roorkee placements 2022 were INR 2.15 crore per annum and INR 1.8 crore per annum, respectively. IIT Roorkee Campus Facilities
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has properly designed and planned facilities and infrastructure. Since IIT Roorkee is a technical institution, it is mandatory that the science and engineering departments mainly have laboratories that are well equipped and infrastructure that is world-class. IIT Roorkee facilities include hostels for boys and girls, banks, post office, central library and more. If we talk about IIT Roorkee infrastructure, the classrooms are well-equipped and so are the computer and mechanical labs. The institute keeps on upgrading its facilities and infrastructure so that students can develop personally and professionally.
Boys Hostel IIT Roorkee has 10 hostels for the boys. The hostels are connected with Wi-Fi with deep internet connectivity all over the campus hostel and canteens which are available for midnight snacks. Hostels provide clean and aesthetic environments. 
Girls Hostel Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee facilities includes 3 hostels for girls. Recreational facilities are also available for the students. 
Medical/Hospital Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has a wellness centre also known as the Counselling Cell earlier, which helps to deal and engage students to address their social, academic and personal problems for their mental wellness. 
Library IIT Roorkee has a Mahatma Gandhi Central Library that has a vast collection of books, journals, magazines, etc. Students also have access to more than 2 million theses from worldwide online sources. 
Sports The institute provides both indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Games such as badminton, tennis, swimming, basketball, kho kho, table tennis, hockey, etc are available for the students. To motivate students to get more into sports national sports organisation NSO scheme was inaugurated in 2007-2008.
I.T Infrastructure IIT Roorkee has Internet, computer centre and other IT related facility available on the college campus.
Auditorium The IIT Roorkee facilities include an auditorium for the students so that they can organise events and seminars.
Alumni Associations The IIT Roorkee has a good networking for the alumni association.
Guest Room/Waiting Room IIT Roorkee has three guesthouses and a visitor hostel to accommodate guests and delegates who visit the campus regularly.
Banks/ATMs There are two banks on-campus: the Punjab National Bank (P.N.B.) and the State Bank of India(S.B.I.). Both the banks provide Centralised Banking Services, Internet Banking and A.T.M. facilities. On enrollment, every student of IIT-R must open an account with either bank. Both the banks are centrally located. While P.N.B. is near the post office, the S.B.I branch on campus is located in the main building. The A.T.M. of Punjab National Bank is located next to the bank. S.B.I. operates 2 A.T.M.s on-campus- one near the bank branch and the other in Cautley Bhawan. Apart from these, many banks have branches and A.T.M. facilities in the town, that is, off-campus.
Convenience Store The campus has a post office within its premises which is situated near the U.G. club. The post office is well equipped and caters to the needs of the students and the faculty, as well as the non-residents of the campus. The post office works on all weekdays from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., and on Saturdays from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M.
IIT Roorkee Cutoff
Candidates will be able to check the JEE Advanced 2023 cutoff for IIT Roorkee as soon as it is released by the authorities.
