IIIT Tiruchirappalli, popularly known as IIIT Trichy, is an academic institute funded by the Government of India, Government of Tamil Nadu, and IT industry partners, including TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Ramco Systems, ELCOT and NAVITAS. IIIT Trichy is considered The Institute of National Importance; it was established in 2013 and currently receives academic and administrative support from NIT Trichy.

IIIT Trichy is located in NIT Campus, Thanjavur Road, near BHEL, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. One can travel by train, bus or even air to reach the campus if they are from another state. Thuvakudi bus stop is approximately 3 km away from the institute, whereas, Tondamanpatti railway station is around 5 km away from the campus. The institute is at a distance of around 19 km from Tiruchirappalli International Airport. Students can even hire a taxi, auto or private means of transport to the campus as per their convenience.

They make sure that students and staff are given the utmost facilities to make their experience a memorable one. The facilities are mentioned below:
Boys Hostel IIIT Trichy provides excellent accommodation to its students, provided by NIT Trichy. The students are provided with all the amenities so that their stay here becomes a worthwhile experience. Every hostel has a common room with AC and TV. Common rooms also have indoor table-tennis for sports recreation. For first-year UG boys, the accommodation is provided at Agate Hostel. It is a four-seater hostel with a capacity of 308 students. For second year UG boys, the accommodation is provided at Topaz Hostel. It is a single seater hostel with a capacity of 126 students.IIIT Trichy provides mess facilities to its students, provided by NIT Trichy. There are ten different mess available for the students, providing food of different cuisines.
Girls Hostel For UG girls, the accommodation is provided at Opal C Hostel. It is fully computerized and is giving an exhaustive service to NIT Trichy and IIIT Trichy. Two ATMs has been installed in the campus one in the Shopping Complex and another one near Barn Hall.
Guest Room/Waiting Room NIT Trichy provides special accommodation to their guests. IIIT Trichy guests also have access to this guest house. The guests can stay in the guest house by paying nominal fees. The fees for the stay is available at the guest house.
IIIT Trichy Cutoffs
The admission authorities will release the JEE Main cutoff for IIEST 2024 on the official website soon after the declaration of JEE Main 2024 result. The cutoff will be the minimum marks set by the authorities. IIIT Trichy , Tiruchirappalli JEE Main cutoff will be released category-wise and will consist of opening and closing ranks. Candidates who will be able to secure a rank higher than the closing rank released by the authorities will be offered admission.
