BITS Pilani is a private deemed university for higher education and research in Engineering. The university is among the first six institutes to be awarded ‘Institute of Eminence’ status. BITS Pilani is the only Indian private university featured in the top 200 universities in Asia by QS Asia University Rankings 2022.
Birla Institute of Technology has campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai. With BITS Pilani in Dubai, the institute has become the first internationally deemed university. Along with the 5 established campuses, the university has 15 academic departments in Science, Engineering, Management, and Research. BITS Pilani courses
BITS Pilani offers four Integrated First Degree courses across the streams of Science, Technology, Pharmacy, Management and Humanities. These courses include BE, BPharm, MSc and MSc (Tech). Admission to all the Integrated First Degree courses is conducted through BITSAT or via national-level entrance exams. However, direct admission is provided to the state/ central board toppers. Apart from these, BITS Pilani also offers three higher degree courses, including ME, MPharm and MBA. The duration of all these courses is two years.
The Deemed University conducts BITS Higher Degree Online Test (BITS HD Online Test) usually in the month of August for admission to ME and MPharm courses or accepts admission via GATE/ GPAT scores. For MBA admission, the varsity conducts Business Analytics Aptitude Test (BAAT) or accepts CAT/ XAT/ GMAT scores. A variety of scholarships and concessions are available for the newly admitted students at BITS Pilani. The institute offers merit and need-based scholarships to support its students financially. Some of the popular concessions and scholarship schemes offered at BITS Pilani are as follows:
- Scholarship for Board Toppers: BITS Pilani offers 100%, 75%, and 50% fee exemption as a merit scholarship for the top three board toppers of their respective boards. The scholarship is valid only for the first-semester tuition fee.
- Merit in Qualifying Examination: Students who have obtained 90% or above in the aggregate of the qualifying examination are given a 20% of merit scholarship for the first-semester tuition fee. While the students who have obtained 80% or above and less than 90% in the aggregate of the qualifying examination are given a 15% of merit scholarship for the first-semester tuition fee.
- Merit in BITSAT Examination: BITS Pilani offers 75%, 50%, and 25% of the merit scholarship for the students as per their rank in the BITSAT examination. Also, the students can get the hostel fee concession as per their BITSAT rank.

BITS Pilani BITSAT Cutoff Trends: BTech
BITS Pilani admission 2022 to BTech is based on Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) 2022 scores followed by BITSAT Counselling 2022. For BITSAT Counselling six iteration rounds will be held. BITS Pilani conducted BITSAT 2022 exam in two sessions. Also, this year, there was a change in the exam pattern of BITSAT, instead of 150 questions, there were 130 questions.

- LibraryLibrary has room for up to 8,000 students, offers 738 open access study places and 246 open-access IT work stations. As well as the books and periodicals you expect, it is home to computing facilities for students.The library is searchable via the library catalogue. But it is not only our library you will have access to – as a BITS Pilani student you can use a network of other libraries via our membership.
- HostelThe Institute is fully residential and hostel accommodation is provided to all students. There are eleven hostels for boys and one hostel complex for girls. The hostel rooms are fully furnished. Common room facilities with Cable TV and telephone are available in each hostel. Internet connectivity has been provided in all hostel rooms. Solar water heating systems are provided in all the hostels. There is a common kitchen cum mess unit for every set of two boys hostels. Girls hostel, however, has a separate mess of its own, situated within the boundary of the hostel. It is mandatory for the students staying in the hostel to have their food in the hostel messes.
