The varsity has a large number of facilities for students. NIT Rourkela facilities include a central library, accommodation for students, a gymnasium, a couple of canteens, and a health centre. The university also offers swimming pool for male and female students. There is a shopping centre as well that supplies provisional items, stationery and other essential items. Other NIT Rourkela facilities include a post office, bank, ATM, guest houses and three temples.
The modern infrastructure and necessary facilities make the lives of students comfortable on campus. The varsity has an efficient security system. The security wing has laid down some rules and regulations followed by all residents and visitors on campus. It has a duty room, which is operational all the time to prevent security breach.
