Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (MNNIT Allahabad) is also known as NIT Allahabad is one of the apex institutions of engineering and higher studies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The college is one among the thirty-one National Institute of Technology in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the Parliament of India as Institutes of National Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. MNNIT Allahabad is ranked 49 in the engineering category by NIRF 2023.
MNNIT Allahabad was established in the year 1961 as Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College. The main building of the college was inaugurated by Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on 18 April 1965. Effective on 26 June 2002, the college became a deemed university and was renamed as Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology.

The institute gives admission to UG, PG and doctoral courses. For UG course admission i.e B.Tech, candidates must apply and appear for JEE Mains. Admission to various PG courses is done through different entrance examinations. Those students who are incapable of getting scholarship from anywhere and their family income is less than Rs.1 Lac are provided scholarship by the Institute itself from the Student Welfare Fund. MNNIT Allahabad Placement
According to media reports, the highest package offered during MNNIT Allahabad BTech placements 2024 stood at INR 63.7 LPA. Further, more than 1000 offers were made and 60% of the MTech students were placed during MNNIT Allahabad placements 2024 as per the media report that was released in the month of February. Further, the highest and average package offered during MNNIT Allahabad CSE placements 2024 stood at INR 63.7 LPA and INR 27.95 LPA, respectively.
Earlier, the highest and average package offered during MNNIT Allahabad BTech placements 2023 stood at INR 135 LPA and INR 20.34 LPA, respectively. Further, the placement rate recorded during MNNIT Allahabad BTech placements 2023 was 92.3%. MNNIT Allahabad Campus Infrastructure
MNNIT Allahabad has the facilities required for an institute of national importance. For such recognition, it is imperative that it provides modern infrastructure and facilities not just for students but also for everybody who may visit or work on campus. Some of the MNNIT Allahabad facilities are library, hostels, canteen, laboratories, research and computer centres. In addition to this, it will require essential services just banking and transport facilities which will provide a very hassle-free life and environment on campus.
MNNNIT Allahabad facilities also include research centres for interdisciplinary studies, consulting, advanced computing, executive development and design centres. Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad facilities allow overall development of students.
Boys Hostel– There are seven Boys hostels at present in the Institute. The capacity of boys hostel is 1800 (1044 single seated rooms and 252 triple seated rooms ). Room allotment is done in such a way that students from different parts of country freely intermingle with each other depicting national integration. Geysers and Water coolers with aquaguard on every floor. PCO for STD/Local calls. Books and Stationary shop. 24 hours internet connectivity with 100 Mbps LAN. Guest room. Generator, which in case of power failure provides electricity to the hostels. All night canteen. Magazine and Newspapers are provided. Students club. This is run by students boys hostel. Mess workers are under their control.
Girls Hostel – There two Girls hostels at present in the Institute. The capacity of girls hostel is 145. Room allotment is done in such a way that students from different parts of country freely intermingle with each other depicting national integration. Washing machine. PCO inside the hostel. Generator, which in case of power failures provides electricity to the mess and the common room. Provisional goods store in the hostel premises. Four Computers. Intercom line. 24 hours internet connectivity with 100 Mbps LAN. Water cooler and Geysers. Magazine and Newspapers are provided. Two motor pumps installed. Air cooler and Refrigerator. Stereo system. This is run by students in girls hostel. Mess workers are under their control.
Medical/Hospital – The Institute Health Centre provides the following facilities to all its students and institute’s employees and their dependents. 1.OPD 2.Pathology 3.Physiotherapy 4.Dental 5.ENT 6.Psychiatry 7.Homeopathy 8.Ayurvedic
I.T Infrastructure– The institute has high speed internet facility and high performance computing with web services and email based services for both general and advanced purposes with software packages. It is open 24 hours and 365 days in a year with a 10.5 Gbps internet connectivity across the campus area.
Transport Facility– The MNNIT Allahabad transport facility is used by the student to travel to and from within the University Campus as per a time table at every subsidised rate. The students and faculty members will be able to request for drop in and pick up at railway station and bus stand upon early request. 
Cafeteria- The institute offers exceptional very good eating canteen outlets which are hygienic and reasonable in nature and managed by recognised quality outlets such as Amul India Private Limited and Bikanervala food Private Limited. 
Library- The MNNIT Allahabad central library has both – a huge repository of books for references and knowledge assimilation as well as ebooks for or online learning. The library houses more than 1.2 lakh books, 14526 e-journals, and 29508 conference papers with stacks of accessories and reading materials. 
Convenience Store- A Post Office is situated at near to the Colony Gate.
Banks/ATMs- The MNNIT Allahabad provides a good banking facility on campus with all required amenities and ATM services from two banks namely Vijaya Bank near the CAD/CAM lab and State Bank of India near Yamuna Gate. 
Gym- The college has Gym facility for the students.
Wifi- The Central Library provides 25 internet connections and wi-fi internet connections to its users and majority of students frequently uses online journals and e-books for their research activities
Alumni Associations- The college has a good networking for alumni association.
Auditorium- The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminar.
Laboratories – Laboratory provides facilities for budding researchers and scholars for carrying out independent research in their areas of interest in each department of study such as mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and CSE.
