NIT Mizoram is an autonomous university, established in 2010. NIT Mizoram is ranked 101-150 in the BTech category by NIRF 2025. It is accredited by the AICTE and NBA. NIT Mizoram Location
NIT Mizoram is located 9 km away from the city centre of Aizawl, the capital city of Mizoram, the closest airports to Aizawl are in Guwahati or Calcutta, and NIT Mizoram is about 35 kilometres from Lengpui Airport. The closest train station to Aizawl, if you wish to travel by train, is Silchar. Sumos on a sharing basis are accessible from Mizoram Circuit House, Sonai Road, Silchar. However, the drive from Silchar to Aizawl may take around 6 hours. Private buses are running between Guwahati and Aizawl, including Network and Capital, and you can purchase tickets at the kiosks at Paltan Bazar. Usually, the vehicles leave on time.

The institute has leased out 7 buses for transporting the students who are staying in the hostels. These buses have been deputed to bring the students to and from the hostel to the institution every day and drop them back at the hostel after classes to make their transport easier and more reliable.
Medical/Hospital Health Care Centre of NIT Mizoram is engaged with 1 doctor and 1 nurse with other support staff. The institute provides proper health care facilities to its students and staff, and in case of medical emergencies, the institute has leased out 2 emergency vans for 24/7, which are permanently deputed in the hostels along with a driver. In emergency situations, there are two government hospitals near the institute.
